Upcoming events:

  1. Vocal Alchemy

A half-day workshop happening Saturday, November 1st, 10am-2pm at my kundalini yogi friend Apryl's Yurt at Ahimsal Healing in Nature and the address is 5689 David Rd, Ladysmith.

Together, we will explore:
How sound and play and movement and laughter and authentic self expression can shift stuck emotions stored in the body and even liberate the voice.
Practices that reconnect body, breath, and voice to produce congruent self expression.
Guided processes for letting each inner part express itself safely.

How through heart centred connection and respectful relationship, deep listening and working closely together we can create real beauty; it doesn't need to be complex, although it might be.

Depth, communion and connection are enhanced as we sound our frequency and make something uniquely special in the moment that is greater than the sum of its parts.

Would you like to explore your voice and find its freedom as a source of wisdom and healing, whilst collaborating in a safely held container with others to create profound, spontaneous, beautiful musical compositions together?

You can email me if you'd like to register. The fee is $100 and we will bring a bag lunch for a short lunch break.

I would love to have you with us. Your voice is not just sound — it’s a doorway into presence, connection, and healing.

2. LOVE SONGS FROM THE UNIVERSE

Mon eves 6.30pm-8pm starting Oct 27th, 2025 for 6 weeks. A weekly dive into the magic and healing of vocal improv choir. Venue: Ohm Zome,5464 Cowichan Lake Rd, Duncan, BC. Fee $139. In heart centred collaboration, call in the sonic medicine, the music of the  stars, the song of the universe, in urgency for the healing of our planet.

Heal and uplift yourself and others and with our intentions send healing out to the world on the frequencies of our sounds. Discover the power of heart centered alignment and through the art of relating, deep listening, allowing, trusting and being present learn to become a vessel to allow the song of the universe to be sung through you. Together with these skills we can create amazing compositions that carry profound healing medicine.

Each session will begin in a safe, non judgmental container with playful fun warm ups, involving sounding, chanting, playing with our voices, exploring and experimenting as we lay the foundation for a deeper experience to come.

Ella will direct you into a deeply sacred process where you will experience the connection to the Universal Love Songs.

You may be part of the choir, receiving a repeating pattern which will have a meditative quality allowing you to practice blending, timing, consistency and awareness of self within the group. Where are my boundaries? Where do I end and others start? How can we blend and yet maintain our integrity? You may create your own parts. There may be duets, trios or group creations. How do I stay in heart-centred relationship to others as I express my truth? You may wish to solo over the top of a woven foundation of harmony, or beautiful dissonance. (Or not!). See how I can find freedom to fly when others hold me and witness me in a circle of support. You will have choice to opt in or out at all times. Ella will share some of her improvised musical Universal Love Songs as one of the ways you will experience the depth of this magical experience. There may be vocal soundbaths and healing may occur!

If you can keep a beat and are comfortable singing simple melodies (which you will be given, and you can choose your own) this is for you. This is for you too if you are a more accomplished singer. If you would like to be part of the creative process or take a solo opportunity there will be room for this

Ella Morelle Vocal Bio

Ella’s Journey into Voice began 35 years ago with a transformational experience where her voice was miraculously awakened with her first mentor, the inimitable Harriet Buchan in Edinburgh, Scotland.

She had found her voice. However she then lost her voice through not understanding the gift, not heeding the call, and has spent the next 3 decades on a journey of inquiry into the healing voice, releasing the voice and vocal expression including improvisation.

All this led to her founding and leading groups, from 2001-2018 in vocal improvisation, community choirs, Threshold style choirs and also offering workshops in freeing the voice/ the healing voice.

A brain injury 7 years ago put a halt to all of that. Once again she lost her vocal capacity. And had to find it again. It has been a long haul in recovery but her calling wouldn’t leave her alone and now she is resurfacing at last with new, unique, vocal healing offerings.

If you think you would enjoy a world, folk, contemporary classical fusion style then this is the place for you.

Here are some of her mentors over the course of 3 and a 1/2 decades:

Harriet Buchan, actress and singer, famous for her role in Taggart, a UK series.

Frankie Armstrong, UK folk singer and natural voice practitioner. Natural Voice Practitioner certification training with Frankie.

Chloe Goodchild, UK and internationally renowned vocal coach.

Jill Purce, world renowned Tibetan overtoning teacher.

Black Coffee Sound Production, UK.

Sibylle Rovier, psychotherapist and find your voice teacher, Findhorn, UK.

Peter Giles, Voice teacher, UK.

Community Choir Leadership Training, Siobhan Robinsong and Dennis Donnelly, Victoria, BC, Canada.

7 years participation in a leaderless group of vocal improvisers, gathering one full weekend per month, Victoria, BC, Canada.

Roy Hart Theatre of the Voice, France.

Rhiannon, BC, Canada.

Edwin Coppard, BC, Canada.

Applied Improvisation Conference Presenter, US.

And more recently, post brain injury:

Hanna Elise Seinen, voice teacher, BC, Canada

Lachune Boyd, Vocal Coach, Texas, US. Semifinalist for America’s Got Talent, 2023.
