I can help. I am Counselling Psychologist with a background in Japanese Shiatsu bodywork. I combine the two to provide counselling services that integrate mind, body, emotions and spirit. I specialize in working with people struggling with anxiety, stress, depression, abuse, trauma, (including PTSD), co-dependency, self-esteem, and grief and loss.
By working with the whole person it is possible to create profound and lasting change when psychological or emotional pain has been causing severe distress.
People who come to see me say they have had counselling before, but they tell me over and over that they have never experienced any therapy as life changing and transformative as this. The work I do can be profoundly healing. Clients have told me that although they understand intellectually why they do what they do, they feel powerless to change their patterns or to maintain those changes over time. It is one thing to know intellectually the source of a problem; it is another to connect that knowing with the body’s wisdom. Once you are connected in with the wisdom of the body, the changes can come about rapidly and easily. Studies in somatic psychology have shown that patients maintain their changes over the long term.
Two questions to ask yourself before you come to see me are:

These changes can be very effective in helping you overcome depression and anxiety, as well as the effects of trauma.
I will help you through a process called somatic psychotherapy. By becoming more present you can see where you are holding tensions: you will learn how to transform and release old stuck patterns you have been holding in your musculature and cell memory. By developing new, positive neural pathways, you will begin to experience more ease and more contentment in your life.
I can provide a mirror for your words so you can learn to see yourself and your circumstances in a new light, which in turn can propel you towards making the positive life changes and healthier life choices you are longing to make.
With greater wisdom, insight and understanding comes growth and development into a more complete human being.

I have been a body therapist for 28 years. I segued into counselling psychology 5 years ago. Combining the mind, body and emotions has always been a part of my own healing journey; this led to me developing this unique approach to therapy and the results are mind blowing.
