Counselling for Anxiety
Anxiety is very common. It can be a symptom of depression, but it is often a result of feeling stressed. Symptoms include:
Increased heart rate
Thoughts that won’t stop going round and round
Worry about the future
Ruminating over the past
Having someone to talk to can be helpful in anxiety treatment. Learning to change your “automatic negative thoughts” and replace them with positive thoughts, through cognitive behavioural therapy, can be very beneficial. EMDR treatment can also be very helpful.
Using mindfulness, breath, relaxation techniques and body awareness you can train yourself to be calm, to still your mind and stay focused on the present moment.
I have been practising meditation daily for over 30 years. I can help you learn and support you on your journey to heath.
Other strategies to help with anxiety treatment include exercise, avoiding stimulants like coffee and sugar, and sometimes medication.
